EuroMTB day 3, Saturday – XCO starts – what to expect?

Saturday gives ut XCO discipline, the main event, where riders battle several laps on the XCO-course. Racing times expected to be about 75 to 90 minutes and this is the Olympic discipline. The course at Huskvarnaberget will take out the most of the riders, gruesome climbs, technical descents and the varm weather will have effect over the race.

Saturday Junior (Women and Men) and also U23 Women - with Swedish superstar Jenny Rissveds will be headlines. But also Swedish Cup in Trial and EuroMTB MasterChallenge will add to the program as well as the Saturday night After Bike!!!

10:30 Womens Junior race

We are looking at Martina Berta (ITA) is ranked no 3d in the UCI world ranking amongs junior riders with several wins in European MTB cups. Magdalena Duran (ESP) is ranked 6th in the UCI world ranking amongst junior riders with one victory and one third place in European cups. Also look out for Emily Wadsworth (GB) is ranked 15th in the UCI world ranking amongs junior riders.  Hélène Clauzel (FRA) is ranked 9 in the UCI world ranking amongs junior riders with one victory and one second place (behind Martina Berta). Sweden sends Sofia Oskarsson to the starting line.

13.00 Men Juniors

Look out for  Vital Albin (SUI) is ranked 17 in the UCI world ranking amongst junior riders, and did really well in the team relay, XCR thursday. Ben Zwiehoff (GER) is ranked 10 in the UCI world ranking amongs junior riders. Did also perform well on thursday evening and finished topp 10 att UCI U23 World Cup earlier this month. Richard Holec (CZH) is shooting star ranked 4th in the UCI world ranking amongs junior riders and have good results from races. Swedens have five rider in the Juniors, Emil Hedlund is the top rank but Carl Jarnhagen and Axel Höglund are competing just hundreds of meters from their own houses, they now the trails really well.

14:30 Womens U23 

Perrine Clauzel (FRA) is currently is ranked 14 in the UCI world ranking and did really well in last World Cup race in Cairns Australia. Swedish start Jenny Rissveds (SWE) will have to be put as favorite and will have the support of the Swedish crowd. She currently ranked 9th in the overall elite UCI world ranking and number 1 amongs U23 riders. She had a nice race at the World Cup race in Cairns a couple of weeks ago and finished in 9th position.

Alessandra Keller (SUI) is currently is ranked 12 in the overall UCI world ranking riders also with good results from down under. She finished 12th in Cairns. Also keep Sina Frei in mind! Malene Degn (DEN) is currently is ranked 9th in the UCI world ranking amongs U23 riders with a victory from Fiskumrittet in Norway earlier this spring showing good form. Olga Terentyeva (RUS) is currently is ranked 3rd in the UCI world ranking amongs U23 riders. And she also finished 3rd at the U23 World Cup in Cairns.

We also have the SweCup in Trials going on – spectacular performances, 10:30 to 17.00 at different spors around the Arena. EuroMTB Master Challenge as well as the Afterbike!
