Why not to miss the XC Eliminator

It is defiantly the most intense discipline during the upcoming Championships. A time trial followed by eliminations with four riders competing in each heat. Today we´ll have a look into Cross Country Eliminator and some great moments from races.

Going into the 2015 World Cup season it was decided that Cross Country Eliminator (XCE), or if you may ”Sprint”, would not be a part of the World Cup series but be present during national, continental and world Championships. One of many reasons to really look forward to the event in 2016 European Championships! On Friday 6th of May, second day of the Championship, we are set to go. Don´t miss this rare opportunity!

The XCE consists of individual time trials and on a track that is 500-1000 meters long with an ”audience friendly” build-up. Then the elimination starts, with four riders per heat where the top two move into the next stage. Lets´show you what to expect:

2013 was a historic year for the UCI Mountain Bike WC as the Cross-Country Eliminator discipline made its debut – bringing about the first ever World Cup Champion (Swedish Alexandra Engen) Here´s a review of the action!

From the World Championships in Lillehammar 2014, it is never over until you´ve crossed the finish line! (Also here some Swedish presence)
