Union Européenne de cyclisme or European Cycling Union, abbreviated as UEC is set to "preserve the unity of world cycling, to promote the interests of European cycling in all disciplines, and to represent the interests of the European cycling federations".

UEC, the continental confederation of Europe, har many purposes, one is to make sure that European Championships are organized by awarding the events to local organizers around Europe. We´re happy to be one of them. UEC is an integral part of the Union Cycliste International (UCI)

There are five Continental Confederations (one per continent), grouping together all the member National Federations on the same continent. That leaves UEC in charge of the development of cycling on their continent, they are an integral part of the Union Cycliste International (UCI).

If you want to know more what EUC´s purpose is here you go:

a) To reinforce the importance of the European cycling federations, to foster contacts between them and to strengthen fraternal relationships between the member federations, b) To promote the development of cycling in Europe, c) To inform the UCI of the specific problems concerning Europe and to present solutions to them, d) To prepare proposals for sports activities in Europe particularly: i. To prepare a European event calendar, ii. To plan and to organize courses for commissaires and for technicians, e) To organize European Championships and European Cups, f) To promote sporting ethics in general and particularly in cycling, g) To combat all forms of racial, political, and religious discrimination within all continental sport organisations.
