Back on track

After last years time-out Alexandra Engen is looking ahead towards a European Championship in, more or less, her backyard. Growing up in Jönköping she has the Huskvarna Mountain close by.

The much-appreciated Engen also still races, when not riding for her international team, for one of the organizing clubs, Jönköping CK.

But racing has been secondary this season for the sixth fold national champion, world cup winner and U23 European Champion (2010) amongst other podium places. But she did place second in the 2015 National Championships (Jenny Rissveds, 1st) and seems to be on her way with the “comeback-train”.

She intended to go for the final World Cup race but stomach flu just before the races kept her longing until next year. Instead Engen went for the final race in Deutsche Bundesliga (Bad Säckingen). Taking one more step in the right direction finishing in 11th place.
