National teams announcements has started!

News about different teams to the European Championships are starting to be out there. A lot of rider and teams are of course battling for medals put also for their spot to the Olympics. Some really interesting team set ups! Just have a look at Norway, Spain, Netherlands; Czech Republic and Belgium! Final registration is 25th at 23:59!

Note that there is some reservs of the mentioned riders (but not noted who they are below). Final registrations for each race is done one day ahead of start.

Switzerland

Bringing a really large team to Sweden, Switzerland will have chances in all races. Jolanda Neff, Fabian Giger and Lars Forster will be really exiting to see. Missing out on seeing Nino Schürter in the races but the Olympics will be his main goal this season.

Norway

Norway shows up in Sweden with 15 riders,  keep an eye on veteran Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå, Olympic Champ in 2004, having a great season so far and Ingrid Sofie Bøe Jacobsen!

Spain

Shows up with the strongest team possible! Elite men such as legend José Antonio Hermida, Sergio Mantecón, Carlos Coloma, David Valero och Pablo Rodriguez. In elite female Rocio Martin and adding U23 Josep Duran and juniors Jofre Cullell and Magda Duran.

Belgium

14 rider in totalt and seven Elite men riders competing with Sebastien Carabin being the highest UCI-ranked. Add to that Githa Michiels in women elite (top-10 at the world ranking) and XCE specialist Fabrice Mels. Full selection found here.

Netherlands

Coach Tim Heemskerk has in the Elite mens category seleceted; Mathieu van der Poel, Rudi van Houts, Michel van der Heijden and Hans Becking or the tournament. In the women Elite Anne Terpstra is the only rider. And of course European XCE-champion Jeroen van Eck is joining!

This riders har battling for a top ten position to make the Olympics (van Houts has already met the requirements). And be aware of wonderchild van der Poel switching CX to XC! More riders in Junior and and U23 found here.

Czech Republic

Olympic Champion Kulhavy will miss the European Championships due to injury. Keep an eye on Katerina Nash and Ondřej Cink. Czech is in the battle for an Olympic spot in womens elite having a close race with for example Sweden.

Ženy U23: Jana Czeczinkarová (Sram Mitas Trek), Barbora Průdková (Nutrend Specialized Racing). Muži U23: Jan Vastl (Bianchi Countervail), Matěj Průdek (Nutrend Specialized Racing). Ženy: Kateřina Nash (Luna Pro), Jitrka Škarnitzlová (ČS Accolade), Karla Štěpánová (Kona Cycling Point) Muži: Ondřej Cink (Merida Multivan), Jan Škarnitzl (Sram Mitas Trek), Jan Nesvadba (Expres CZ Merida Kolín). XCE: Filip Kubín (GT Opportunity Brno).

Finland/Suomi

Finland has chosen Elite/M: Jukka Vastaranta, Sakari Lehtinen, Toni Tähti
Elite/W: Noora Kanerva, U23/M: Sasu Halme, U19/M: Antti-Jussi Juntunen, Jere Hara and U19/W: Kajsa Salmela. Kanervna is national champion in both XCE and XCO.

Sweden
